On the Recap: Sunday's Dessert

The thunderbolt king
What a goal by Alex. I have him from gameweek 4 and the maximum points contributed by him was for keeping a clean sheet. Out of nowhere he came alive with an amazing free kick goal (well-orchestrated set piece with the help of Malouda) and a clean sheet to become the highest scoring defender this week. Without him I would lost my H2H match versus a Van Der Vaart holder. Drogba still a thorn in Arsenal side and produced another well-taken goal. But who got the maximum bonus points? None other than Mr All-round Display Michael Essien. Not in the same mold as Lampard, he will continue to gather bonus points by running the midfield engine.

Captain Tevez scored this weekend but came short with a yellow card. Decent score if you captained him. But Adam Johnson single-handedly won the match by playing just under 20 minutes and received maximum points. Most managers dropped him for not playing full time but this man should be playing week in week out. Maybe we can blame this on Silva. Noted that the form man Toure (not the Kolo) substituted to accommodate Mancini's attacking tactics. Poor Ben Arfa; I expected him to be the best signing of the season. Back to France then.

And the most disappointing result of all; Liverpool lost at home. For the past season, this result seem unthinkable. Everybody's afraid to come to Anfield. I don't know what's going on but the once reliable Roy Hodgson was very confused about his tactics. Was he meant to be a middle club manager? Torres limped off after 10 minutes and only Gerrard ran the show for Liverpool. Charlie Adam once again the catalyst for the Blackpool side. They got 3 away win already this season more than other side in the premiership and they welcome Mancini troops next.
