On the Recap: Thursday Crisis

Elmo...smiling on the bench
A bit busy so I will make this a simple one as I think everybody already knew the Sunderland result by now...

Performer of the day was United loanee Danny Welbeck by scoring a brace at home and almost singlehandedly win it for The Black Cats. Unfortunately a deflected Arteta strike cancelled his goalscoring exploits to make the matter even after Tim Cahill equalised.

Interesting note from Soccernet that amazingly, Sunderland has played all the top eight teams of last season and hasn't experiencing a single loss. What a turn around by Steve Bruce and most of his acquisitions have already scored i.e. Welbeck, Gyan & Onuoha.

One downside was that our fantasy favourite Elmohamady seemed to fell down the pecking order. Based on the latest match, maybe his time has ran out. So please take note of the situation and arrange any transfer if necessary. Next assignment; Sunderland go to the Molineux for their next fixture.

Champions League Notes:-

Unconvincing Blues...Malouda scored the winning goal after Chelsea came back from behind after MSK Zilina scored first on the 19th minute. Daniel Sturridge netted the equalising goal and Drog got the assist for Malouda goal. Fancy his scoring chances against depleted Newcastle this weekend.

Gunners Gunned Down...Regretful Wenger want to protect Van Persie after injury but instead he exposed Fabregas and succumbed to three weeks layoff. Braga scored two inside the final ten minutes and the qualification to the knockout stages still pending for Arsenal. Fab-less Gunners will tackle The Villans away next.

Roon Comeback...Second string defense proved to be enough to take United through against Rangers. A very rusty Rooney scored the only penalty and won the match without any fuss and notable injury. Next possible home victim, Allardyce's Rovers.

Cool Spurs...Spurs scored three against Bremen without Van Der Vaart service. List of scorers; Kaboul, Modric & Crouch. Bale assisted one goal and missed a penalty. Top performer was Aaron Lennon with two assists. Liverpool visit White Hart Lane on Saturday.
