He will look good in blue...Seriously |
Gameweek 3 Two-Liners
(Youngsters to slug it out) MANU vs ARS
MANU - Team is on form, morale is high, they have talented youngsters, playing at home, that sum it all actually;
ARS - Suspensions and injuries to players, lack of replacements, extra assignment in Europe but honestly they looked good before the red card (last weekend);
Prediction - A handsome win but a clean sheet is not guaranteed;
(Derby of the midlands) AST vs WOL
AST - Bent & Gabby found their scoring touch, well organised defensively, home advantage, unbeaten in the league but Nzog looked a bit isolated in Mcleish's new system;
WOL - Best start of the season (2 wins in 2), new reinforcements performed admirably, very hard to break and their wing play is pretty dangerous;
Prediction - Hard-fought draw in a typical tight derby;
(Top versus bottom clash) TOT vs MANC
TOT - Adebayor is too soon (or not allowed), very good at home based on past season, lack of finishers in front of VDV while penetrable in defense;
MANC - Scoring goals for fun, dont bet on the away defense, strikers issue still pending and yeah Nasri, the fans makes you move;
Prediction - It will be another fun end to end action draw;
Both (desperately) need to get winning |
(Battle of the blacks and whites) NEW vs FUL
NEW - Surprisingly resolute in defense, potential fantasy stars are rising and playing in St James with all the town cheering is intimidating enough for visitors;
FUL - May experience fatigue again after coming back from Europe, Zamora & Riise are now injured, while traveling to northern England will not help them at all;
Prediction - A tight win for Barton-less Magpies;
(Face-off at the bottom) BLA vs EVE
BLA - Both front and back look shaky, need to get the tactic and formation right as the coach is looking rapidly to be the first one to be sacked this season;
EVE - You can call it lack of effort, slow starters, no new signings, a complacency issue but I think the same personnel are more than capable of producing a good performance;
Prediction - Everton to further pile up the misery
(We need to get serious) WIG vs QPR
WIG - No doubt the quality, still searching for the elusive first win, have to do better in front of home fans and don't too depend on penalties;
QPR - Registered unlikely first win with the new owner, deserved the tag of the championship champion afterall and Tarrabt quality may diminish with the proposed Barton's arrival;
Prediction - Wigan to get their first win finally;
(North to the south) SWA vs SUN
SWA - The Swans have an outstanding passing play and a new keeper they can rely to but the only problem is their ability to score;
SUN - Played well in Liverpool, losing at home and after recruiting almost a whole new team, good result is expected or otherwise they are in a very deep trouble;
Prediction - Black Cats to slug it out with The Swans, checkmate;
Having a second thoughts in London |
(Kenny on the right track) LIV vs BOL
LIV - Fantasy favourite (you know who) to maintain the ammunition for The Reds inside their own den and the revolution is expected to continue towards the Premiership title;
BOL - Fast becoming the complete package by playing a gung ho kind of tactic and didn't afraid to attack to compensate their defensive weakness;
Prediction - Obviously, I expect a tight deserved win for the home team;
(The game starts here) WBA vs STK
WBA - The fixtures now and beyond are theirs to lose after losing impressively against United & Chelsea with Shane Long single-handedly maintaining the goals;
STK - Quietly progressed into Europe by using the same aggressive but effective style of play and fast becoming a defensively sound team;
Prediction - The Brums to nick it but Stoke know how to play for a draw;
(Eating the Canaries alive?) CHE vs NOR
CHE - Impressive acquisitions will not end anytime soon, pending Torres dilemma with Drog & Malouda uncertainties, leaky goalkeeper but have a top notch defense;
NOR - Undisputed battling qualities, know how to stifle opponents, not short of creating chances and it might be the good time to face the Blues;
Prediction - Comfortable Blues win nonetheless;
