On the Recap: Saturday Thriller(s)

He deserved some credit but premiership is too cruel
With their stars out injured, Gunners were unable to pass through resilient Sunderland; Do they still have the chance on the title? Can they surmount the challenge on all three fronts? That depend on United result tonight of course; Back to the Saturday notes:-

- Two former fantasy stars hogged the highest score; Duff and GCahill both registered a brace in their home thriller; Occasional defender Manuel Da Costa of West Ham came close with a goal (second for WHam), a clean sheet and full bonus;

- I quote this on Friday, "I reckon Sunderland to emerge from their daydreaming and make the life difficult for Wenger's boys as they must be concentrating on the Nou Camp; I boldly go for a draw but if Arsenal indeed win, it will be a tight affair"

- What a huge result that was for The Black Cats after four losses in a row; Honourable mention to Simon Mignolet for an outstanding performance between the sticks eventhough there was some controversy especially in Arshavin's case; Luck seems not in Wenger side as Wilshere is now doubtful against Barca,

- Hitszlperger scored a trademark thunderbolt to win it against out of sort Stoke while Demba Ba opened the floodgate; They look good, really really good; Survival on track;

- The relegation battle royale casualty was the Carling Cup champion after resurgent Baggies put three past Ben Foster; Odemwingie really made the difference after half time and he should play from the start;

- Villa came short at The Reebok as Young's penalty miss proved a costly one; Same like Rovers, they need to get the necessary result as they are precariously close to the bottom;

- Everton kept their Jekyll & Hyde form as they managed to beat Newcastle away after their loss at home in the FA Cup; Maybe they will lose at home next?; Just kidding;D; Arteta looked impressive though with one assist and plenty attempts on goal;

- Wigan deserved to get something out of nothing if not for Al-Habsi howler; The obvious strikers couldn't get pass through Wigan defense and I pity those who captained Tevez; Wigan quality are a lot better than other relegation candidates but their current schedule is devilish to be honest; I really hope they survive;

- Stay tuned for tonight to know the fate of The Gunners in their premiership quest;

***Latest***King Kenny seems triumphant over Sir Alex as Kuyt hat trick put United on the backfoot on the 70th minute; Wenger will more than happy to accept the result;
